Event Information

At Zaranda, guests experience the vibrant flavors of Las Californias cuisine, paired with carefully crafted cocktails, wines, and knowledgeable service. With sweeping views of Discovery Green through floor-to-ceiling windows, the restaurant’s light-filled design, warm wood finishes, and graceful whale-tail ceiling details create an atmosphere that evokes the relaxed elegance of California’s coast.

Zaranda is ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, bridal and baby showers, graduations, rehearsal dinners, company parties, holiday celebrations, happy hours, cocktail receptions, and more.

Our experienced event team will assist with every detail of your gathering, from menu planning to décor, and can provide support with audio/visual equipment for presentations or entertainment. Guests may choose from curated set menus or work with our culinary team to create a custom menu designed specifically for their occasion.

For celebrations beyond the restaurant, our team can also bring the flavors of Zaranda to you with off-site catering. Whether you’re planning full-service catering or a simple drop-off, our team is here to make the process seamless.

Bajamar

Bajamar is an intimate private dining room with seating for up to 30 guests, featuring AV capabilities, flexible layouts, natural light, and private patio access—with curtains available for added privacy. It’s an ideal setting for both celebrations and business gatherings.

Altamar

Altamar is a spacious mezzanine-level private dining room overlooking Discovery Green. With seating for up to 80 guests, flexible layouts, AV capabilities, private restrooms, and elevator access, it’s a versatile setting for both elegant celebrations and professional events.

Ballena Bar

Ballena Bar is a vibrant semi-private space named for the dramatic whale-tail design that sweeps across the ceiling. With seating for up to 40 guests or space for 60 standing, it’s an energetic, flexible setting ideal for networking receptions, happy hours, and cocktail-style gatherings.

Patio

With views of the Discovery Green, our patio is an ideal space for happy hours, receptions, and cocktail-style gatherings. The flexible layout allows guests to mingle comfortably while enjoying the vibrant energy of downtown Houston.
