Zaranda brings the culinary heritage of Las Californias to Downtown Houston, exploring the historic region stretching from Northern California to Cabo San Lucas. Guided by Chef Hugo Ortega, our menu celebrates the intersection of Alta and Baja California, shaped by coastal flavors, ranching traditions, and Spanish and Asian influences.

Named for the traditional wire basket used to prepare zarandeado, a centuries-old method of grilling seafood over an open flame, Zaranda features premium meats, Baja-inspired tacos and tostadas, and the iconic Tableside Caesar Salad, first created in Tijuana.

Home to the largest Mexican wine list in the country and a creative cocktail program, Zaranda is located steps from Discovery Green and the George R. Brown Convention Center.
